Our Story
The LEV Associates Group, LLC was founded in 2013 by Mike Steyer, originally as an executive search firm serving the Life Sciences industry. Driven by client demand and evolving market needs, the firm soon expanded its services to include business development, U.S. market entry, and subsidiary formation for international life sciences companies.
About the Founder
Mike Steyer began his career as a management trainee at Bayer AG in Germany. His first international assignment took him to Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Italy, where he gained broad experience in controlling, sales, and product management. Following the successful launch of a major blockbuster antibiotic, Mike transitioned to Bayer’s U.S. sales management team in West Haven, Connecticut.
To further prepare for leadership in the U.S. market, Mike pursued an MBA at Babson College—ranked the #1 business school for entrepreneurship by U.S. News & World Report. Upon graduation, he entered the management consulting sector, joining Capgemini’s Life Sciences practice, a global leader in business transformation and technology services.
He later worked with boutique consulting firms such as Putnam Associates and Fuld & Company in Boston, where he led strategic and scientific engagements for top-tier pharmaceutical and biotech companies. During this period, Mike was offered the opportunity to serve as Managing Director for Mediatum AG, a Boehringer Ingelheim family portfolio company. In this role, he successfully launched and scaled Mediatum US Inc. in Cambridge, MA, positioning the company for significant growth.
Drawing on this extensive international and cross-functional experience, Mike founded The LEV Associates Group to help international life sciences companies establish and grow their presence in the United States.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and an MBA from the Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. He is fluent in English, German, and Italian.
