The LEV Associates Group, LLC was started by Mike Steyer in 2013. Initially as an Executive Search firm for Life Science companies, additional services such as Business Development and Subsidiary Formation were subsequently added following specific clients’ requests and customer demand.
Mike started his career as a management trainee with Bayer AG in Germany. His first international assignment was with Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Italy, where he worked for several years in controlling, sales and product management. After the successful launch of a major blockbuster antibiotic drug, Mike joined Bayer Pharmaceutical’s US sales management team in West Haven, CT. In order to prepare for the next chapter of his career in the US marketplace, Mike decided to pursue a full time MBA program at Babson College, the #1 ranked business school for entrepreneurship.
Following the successful completion of the program, Mike entered the management consulting arena and began working at Capgemini’s life science practice, a global leader in consulting, technology services and digital transformation. Later on, he worked for boutique strategy practices such as Putnam Associates and Fuld & Company in Boston, where he focused on managing business as well as scientific related projects for large Pharma and Biotech firms. During one of his assignments, Mike was offered the position of Managing Director at Mediatum AG, a portfolio company of the Boehringer Ingelheim family. He spearheaded and launched the US subsidiary of Mediatum US Inc. in Cambridge, MA, and grew the organization to a significant size and revenue before he decided to start his own company – the LEV Associates Group.
Mike holds an undergraduate degree in business as well as an MBA from the Franklin F. Olin School of Management at Babson College. He is fluent in English, German and Italian, and he holds German and American citizenships. As a certified ski instructor, he is an avid skier and enjoys being in New England’s mountains all year round, not only during the snow season. He frequently travels domestic and international, and he enjoys exploring new and exotic recipes in his well-equipped kitchen. He resides in Newton, MA with his wife and his son.
